 My fave item would be the tiger costume, because with every costume you get, you give some money to WWF and that helps save the tigers and animals. also you get a "roar" power when you say it and also it looks awesome lol!

Minimonos Celabrates Earth Day

Hey Monkeys! miniJ here! Know what today is? EARTH DAY! :D To celebrate, we’ve made a special Earth Day Post! Here’s Hi with the history of Earth Day:
Earth day is a great day to celebrate the earth and our passion for it!  How did Earth Day come to be?
Earth Day was an idea that came to Senetor Gaylord Nelson in 1962, but he didn't act on this idea until 1969.  He soon made a national day in the spring on 1970.  This later became known as Earth day!
Why I think Earth Day is an important holiday to celebrate:
I think Earth Day is a very important holiday that is underappreciated. The reason Earth Day is really important is not the little extra people who were already living green lives do, but that it raises awareness about all the pollution and bad things in our world, and why we need to stop them! Earth Day can really turn people who weren’t green before into people who are more environmentally aware! It can really help people to go green!

Why do you feel Earth Day is important?
I feel Earth Day is important due to the fact that we as a society are killing the environment, that we give just one day back to the world and fix all the damage from the other 364 days.
How do you celebrate Earth Day?
I celebrate Earth Day by cleaning up my yard and try fixing up all of the broken furniture outside to reuse. This is a day I usually try to avoid driving in cars, but to take my bike out for a spin. Earth Day is one day where you should show the world you care!
Shouldn’t everyday be Earth Day?
Yes, everyday should be Earth Day! When you care for your world, it will reward you back in so many helpful ways. Never again shall I do something that would harm the environment for no reason or a bad one.

Minimonos Monkey of the Week

Hey there monkeys! :D
Its a big week for us and all the updates! Hehe, but of course we couldn't forget about Monkey of the Week!
This week's monkey of the week goes too... *drum roll*
Flappy!! :-D

Flappy is a really nice monkey! He was very interactive during Beta Bananaza party week, and even won a YEAR Gold Membership!! What a lucky monkey!
Flappy has also gotten very involved with MiniMonos and our Eco Projects. Have you seen his Eco-Project yet? Check it out right here: Flappy's Bananamazing Eco Project!

Minimonos Easter Updates

Hey monkeys! MonkeyRock here from MiniMonos Fire Blog! I'm here to tell you about all of the updates that happened yesterday on MiniMonos. Some are Easter- related, some are pirate-related and some are just plain awesome!

As soon as you login, go to Butterfly Meadow, and find the Easter basket waiting there. Walk over to it and click it to be able to use some awesome powers!

Once you click on the basket, a little window will pop up:

Click yes and now you can do the Eggs Forever and Egg Hunt powers! Eggs Forever makes a parrot fly across your screen, dropping eggs!

Even MORE awesomer than that, is what happens when a monkey uses the Egg Hunt power! Every monkey in the room turns into an EGG, except for the person that said it, who turns into a BUNNY! Then the bunny can chase the eggs! If the bunny manages to catch an egg, the egg turns back into a monkey. :D It's super fun! See if you can catch those eggs!

Now on to the PIRATE updates! MiniMonos has updated the special catalog, and there are now PIRATE costumes! Here is what one looks like on my monkey!

Awesome! This suit can be bought in 6 different colors. The ninja and butterfly suits are gone! :( But on the up side, now every monkey that has a ninja suit now might become RARE! WOOT!

And the last piratey update is something really cool! MiniMonos has added a new parrot robot! It looks really awesome, and just like a normal parrot but a robot! Its name is the CPT Flint 1001 & it flies around behind you!.To get one, visit Einstein's Lab! :)


MiniMonos has improved our playercards! There is also a new "shout out" section in the news tab of our journals! Go to the news tab then click on the speaker with lightning symbol and you will see a list of shout outs from monkeys! Also whenever a monkey gets a new belt in Monkey Fist, or creates a pet at Einstein's Lab, the monkey get's it written in the Shout Out box automatically! Cool :D
Another update in the player cards is the updated buddy section! You can now make a monkey your best buddy so that they show on a separate list, and you can see if they are online easier! Woot! You can also see who your recent buddies are (who you have just added)! Awesome!

Also MiniMonos has added a photos tab to all monkey player cards, so even if a monkey is not your friend, you can see the photos that they have taken with their MiniMonos camera! Here is what it looks like on Zinky's player card! And you can now see how old your monkey is and how many friends you have when you click on your player card!

OMG these updates have been BANANAMAZING! SUPER SUPER DUPER AWESOME! WHAT DO YOU THINK MONKEYS? I LOVE THESE UPDATES! Awesome job Dev Team, for making these awesome updates all the time! You really rock :D Thanks again MiniMonos team!

Ahoy Maties,
This week I had a grand ol' time with me hearties!
This past weekend be pirate weekend and me and me maties took the island peg leg by peg leg, as we searched around for treasure and had a grand ole' time! Har har har!

I've got one awesome Monkey Fact Monday for you!
Here is a picture of a monkey -- quite a hard one, I suppose!
Your job is to tell me what type of monkey it is!
 
Here are some clues to help you:
Its coat and face are mainly black, while the throat and the outside side of its arms are white, and its hips and back are orange. The body length varies between 40 and 55 centimetres and its weight is normally between 4 and 7 kilograms.

We Declare This Weekend to be Pirate Weekend AAARRRRGGGG

Ahoy there, Monkeys!
You will have noticed that tons of new pirate stuff has been released in Traderz -- from clothing for your monkey, to furniture to a brand new treehouse!
So this weekend has been declared...arrrr!.. PIRATE WEEKEND! 

We want ALL monkeys to dress in their pirate outfits for the weekend, speak in their pirate voices, and have a piGREAT time!
I will be hanging around in-world at random times throughout the weekend, giving away a treasure chest load of shells and banana chips!
It's important that ye don't miss this fun weekend, Me Hearties! Make sure to show a leg!

Tree house of the Week

Ahh, you guys make it so hard to choose Treehouse of the Week!
So many awesome treehouses this week, but we can only choose one! This week, I dropped by Skipie's treehouse -- and LOVED IT! Check this out:

Skipie's treehouse was so inviting that I just had to have a cup of tea! I really enjoyed my little stay.  Check it out, Skipie has his El Lancho beta poster up. :O Sweet!
It was great to be able to see my cup of tea lit up with items from the Halloween catalog! Great job Skipie!!

We've known Angie6392 since a few months after MiniMonos started! Woah, that was a long time ago!
Last week Angie got really involved in the Beta Bananaza party week, where she won prizes and check out her EcoMonkey project where she changed lightbulbs in her house to eco-friendly ones: Angie6392's eco-project completed!

Minimonos New sacavener hunt

A REALLY COOL update is coming to MiniMonos Island later this week!  We thought that it'd be fun to put up a sneak peek scavenger hunt so you monkeys can have a sneak preview of what is on its way to the island! Let me tell you... it's going to be bananamazing!

Well, this is a hard one. Minimonos has had a great impact on my life. I will be truthful. Before I started minimonos I didn't make an effort to recycle, to help the environment. I'm sure a lot of kids out there can relate to what i'm saying. When I first came on minimonos I found it hard, because it revolved around the environment. But I quickly got the hang of it. I figured out, we have to recycle and keep the Earth clean for the future generations, because we probably wouldn't have been happy if our ancestors took bad care of the Earth, and left us to suffer the consequences. I now know that even recycling a bottle, can make a great difference in sustaining the world, and maintaining Earth's natural beauty. I've also learned that we humans pollute the Earth,without even thinking of the consequences. So I'd say, Minimonos has helped me a lot to learn about sustainability.

New Pick Up Trash #3

Hey monkeys,
Since Minimonos has released EcoMonkeys and launched out of Beta, I thought it would be great to have another Pick up Trash contest! What I want you to do is come up with an idea on how something can keep the environment clean. Yes, it seems like a piece of cake, but there are some requirements:
- Your idea must be original.
- Your idea can be a "long-term" idea. For example, in the future we could possibly build transformers that can drive around and pick up trash all day long.
- Your idea must be CREATIVE! Take some time and think it out...the more you think it out the better chance of you winning this contest! :)
- You can only submit two ideas maximum.
Submit your ideas on this post by commenting on this post with your idea AND your monkey name! Next Friday, I will then announce the winners! Oh, I almost forgot, the prizes are...

Minimonos Orangutans go bananas party today

Hey monkeys,
Orangutans are awesome apes who are important to us MiniMonos monkeys!
When we were in beta we adopted two orangutans, Monti and Kesi, who were poached illegally, and whose original forest homes are in danger from human activities.

Weʼre going bananas today, to remember the first every party on MiniMonos where monkeys saw the Go Bananas power for the first time!  PLUS today weʼll also all be adopting ANOTHER orangutan through Orangutan Outreach!
We're going to ask YOU to vote which NEW orangutan MiniMonos monkeys will adopt -- to celebrate our launch out of beta!
There are 2 orangutans to choose from (warning -- their stories are sad):
1. Pingy
"Pingy was chained to a tree for 13 years-- until we brought her to the new Sintang Orangutan Center. She has been through so much misery during 13 years of being chained up, and it is time for us humans who care about orangutans to make up for Pingky's lost years."
Pingy is now safe and in good hands at Sintang Orangutan Center in Indonesia.
2. Neng
 "Neng was on a short chain, huddled in a small ball at the end of a wooden platform about 30 feet above the water. She was sitting on two small wooden planks"
Neng was also safely rescued and is at Sintang Orangutan Center too!

Make sure you come to one of the parties today to help us choose which of these 2 monkeys we should adopt! The Monkey-See-Monkey-Do grand final is also today!
See you at 10am monkey time and 3pm monkey time on Star Tiger at Castle Beach!

Minimonos monkey see monkey do final

Hey Monkeys,
So far, the Beta Bananaza has been absolutely amazing and a ton of fun!
Remember, tomorrow is our last day and we're going to be holding two final Beta Bananaza parties!
At the second party, 3:00 PM monkey time, the Monkey-See-Monkey-Do (MSMD) FINAL tournament is ON!
